Distance Letter is a tribute to my relationship with a cousin. Having been tasked with sending a letter to someone, that was bespoke to the receiver, I designed a layout which represented the distance between us throughout our lives.
Starting with the fews years where we both lived in the same city, each layer presents a new distance or the space between us. Ending with a second red layer, acts as a source of hope for us eventually being closer geographically once again.
Encouraged to use exploratory printing methods, I used a variation of techniques, from lino to finger printing. The letter has my message to her written on the reverse and folds up at each layer.
